Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Parker from TECHY Waterville into our class! Parker shared his journey of starting a business at just 13 and spoke honestly about the pros and cons of business ownership, especially at a young age. We also talked about public speaking, how career paths can change, and the importance of showing up, trying new things, and not letting your age hold you back.

What stood out most was the connection he made with our students. They had an amazing conversation and asked more questions than I’ve seen.

Thank you, Parker, for sharing your story and showing our students that at no matter what, when you show up, put in the work and stay focused on your goals, anything is possible!

A huge thank you to Mr. E for spending time with our students today! He shared his story, talked with students about careers, different opportunities available to them, and the paths they can take after high school. It was great for our students to hear his experiences and get another perspective on what their futures could look like.

The students absolutely loved having him in the classroom and the golf ball activity he brought along was definitely a hit! Thank you, Mr. E! 👏

Learning business and personal finance is a lot more fun when you get to actually put it into practice!

Our students got to give this years first swing at the CASHFLOW game and they were all in.

They were making deals, buying and selling real estate, investing in stocks, building cash flow, taking risks, and talking strategy with each other the entire time. The best part, is they didn’t want to stop playing.
Financial literacy doesn’t always have to come from a textbook. Sometimes the best learning happens when students are making decisions, having discussions, seeing the consequences, and having fun doing it.

First day in our new space! 📚🚀

Our Business, Marketing & Entrepreneurship program now has a new classroom and a brand new hands on work lab where students can bring their ideas to life.

We’ll be able to do 3-D printing, hat and shirt pressing, embroidery, vinyl cutting, stickers, buttons, podcasting, branding, marketing and so much more.

Excited to see what our students create, build and launch this year at Mid-Maine Technical Center! Stay tuned as we still have more to do in this space!

How could we overlook posting these shirts in action to conclude the school year! MMTC Blue Collar Ballers, also known as the MMTC teachers, played three outstanding games against the Waterville High/JMG Teachers in our rematch. This was a fantastic way to end the year, and we extend our gratitude to the MMTC Business, Marketing & Entrepreneurship students for their excellent work in creating our jerseys.

Congratulations to the winners of our very first Shark Tank Competition! 🦞

Their business idea, 2nd Life Lobster, presented by Piper, Sean, and Fin, earned them the top prize and a $2,500 scholarship, generously awarded by Prime Financial at our awards ceremony.

A huge thank you to Prime Financial Inc. - Waterville, Maine for investing in the future of our students and supporting entrepreneurship in our community. It was incredible to see the creativity, preparation, and hard work that all of the students put into their business ideas and presentations.

Thank you as well to all of our Sharks who volunteered their time, asked thoughtful questions, and helped make this competition such a valuable learning experience.

The future is bright for entrepreneurship here in Central Maine! 🚀

Today we kicked off our 8th Grade Business Bootcamp! Students are learning what entrepreneurship is, exploring the different parts of a business, then developing their own business idea, and create a simple business presentation.

To wrap it all up, they’ll pitch their ideas Shark Tank-style in front of the class! 🦈💡Can’t wait to see the creativity and innovation these future entrepreneurs bring to the table!
