📢 Important Update: Child Care Assistance Income Guidelines

Dear Families,

We want to share an important update from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services regarding the Child Care Affordability Program (CCAP).

Effective April 18, 2026, income eligibility limits for CCAP have increased to 125% of the State Median Income (SMI).

💡 What this means for you:More families may now qualify for child care assistance, or current families may remain eligible even if income has increased.

Here are a few examples of the updated income limits:

Family of 2: up to $100,355/year

Family of 3: up to $123,968/year

Family of 4: up to $147,581/year

(Income limits increase with family size.)

✅ What you should do:

If you are not currently receiving CCAP, you may now qualify — we encourage you to apply.

If you are currently enrolled, please make sure your information is up to date.
