The renewal of the Levy helps fund programs such as team sports for our Shocker Athletes.

According to Dr Soroosh Amanat “Participation in youth team sports has been linked with lower rates of depression and anxiety, along with a reduced risk of su***de and substance abuse.”

Team sports help build social skills by bringing kids with similar interests together, encouraging interaction and creating a community of shared interests and goals. Kids also learn about teamwork, healthy competition, good sportsmanship and empathy — valuable social skills that extend into other areas of their lives.

They also improve academic performance by promoting educational qualities such as critical thinking and determination.
