Thomas College was proud to host the 2026 Maine Library Association Annual Conference, welcoming library professionals from across the state to our Waterville campus.

From engaging conversations and professional development opportunities to trivia night, baby goats, and an inspiring keynote from P**c Tran, the conference brought together a vibrant community dedicated to learning, literacy, and connection.

Congratulations to Brooklynne Blockler of Dexter, Maine, a recent graduate of the Communications program with a focus in Public Relations and Marketing at Thomas College.

After transferring to Thomas College, Brooklynne found the supportive and close-knit environment she was looking for, a place where she could grow academically, professionally, and personally. Since arriving on campus, she balanced a full-time job while taking heavy course loads, allowing her to graduate early, an accomplishment she is especially proud of.

During her time at Thomas, Brooklynne competed on the women’s soccer team, completed an internship with the Maine Department of Education as a Communications & Outreach Intern, and currently works as a Local Store Marketer for Texas Roadhouse. She also represented Thomas College at the Society for the Advancement of Management Conference, where her team earned 3rd place overall against colleges from across the country.

“My Thomas College story is really about finding where I belong, pushing myself, and proving that I can handle a lot while still succeeding,” she shared.

Passionate about building meaningful connections, helping others, sports, and the outdoors, Brooklynne plans to continue growing her career in marketing and communications after graduation.

Her advice to incoming students: put yourself out there, get involved, and don’t be afraid to make connections because those experiences will shape your college journey.

Professor Darlene Ratte’s 2026 graduating MBA Ethical Leadership class put their skills to the test during a field trip to the escape rooms in Augusta. Both groups successfully escaped with only minutes to spare while practicing leadership characteristics, problem-solving, and collaboration along the way. Most importantly, they created lasting memories together before graduation.

Thomas College is launching a new graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling beginning Fall 2026, helping address the growing need for mental health professionals across rural Maine.

Developed in partnership with regional providers including Kennebec Behavioral Health, the new low-residency master’s program will prepare students for licensure while making graduate education accessible for working adults.

With Maine communities continuing to face major shortages in mental health care access, this program represents another step in Thomas College’s commitment to supporting Maine’s workforce and strengthening communities across the state.

Congratulations to Kristopher Loubier of Winslow, Maine, a recent graduate of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Thomas College.

While working full-time as an estimator at Zimba Company in Fairfield, Kristopher completed Thomas College’s accelerated online MBA program, allowing him to continue building his career while advancing his education.

Through the program, Kristopher strengthened his skills in financial analysis, job costing, and strategic decision-making, tools that are already helping him grow professionally in the construction industry.

“I’m proud of myself for being able to work a full-time job while completing my master’s program and maintaining a high GPA,” he shared.

Passionate about his work and eager to continue learning, Kristopher is focused on growing within Zimba Company and becoming an even more valuable member of the team each day.

Professor Ruth Lyons and ED 319 students recently hosted literacy stations at Margaret Chase Smith Community School during Academic & Arts Night, creating a welcoming and engaging experience for families and students.

The group did an outstanding job connecting with attendees, representing the program with confidence and enthusiasm. Two tables of books were made available for families to take home, and every book was gone by the end of the evening. Several parents also shared that they were not aware of the education program at Thomas College, making this a meaningful opportunity to strengthen community awareness and connection.

School administration also shared their appreciation for the students’ professionalism and impact throughout the event.

A fun and meaningful way to close out the semester, and a proud moment for this group.

Big news for the future of athletics in Maine.

Thomas College is launching a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Coaching, starting Fall 2026. This first-of-its-kind program in Maine is designed to prepare the next generation of coaches to lead with knowledge, confidence, and purpose.

Blending sport science, psychology, leadership, and performance training, students will learn how to develop athletes, build strong team cultures, and elevate performance from day one. With hands-on experience and internship opportunities, graduates will be ready to make an impact in the ever-evolving world of athletics.

“If you’re passionate about sports and helping others grow, coaching may be one of the most meaningful careers you can pursue,” said Dr. Greg King.
