Join our three schools on September 13 as we welcome back our school communities for our 2nd annual Back to the School Sunday!

Students and their families are invited to Sunday Badarak as we celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross with a special children’s sermon. A festive picnic will follow on church grounds and Artsakh Street.

Those families who regularly attend other area churches are welcome to join us at the picnic.

✨ Welcome Back, St. Stephen's Armenian Elementary School Faculty & Staff! 🍎📚

The halls of St. Stephen’s Armenian Elementary School are coming alive again as we welcomed our incredible faculty and staff back for a new school year!

Our Welcome Back days are an important opportunity to reconnect as a team, prepare for the year ahead, and make sure we are ready to provide our students with a safe, nurturing, and enriching learning environment.

Hayr Hrant Tahanian joined us to pray and bless our faculty and staff, offering a beautiful reminder of the importance of faith, community, and the work we do together. We are grateful for his prayers and wishes for a wonderful and successful school year.

Rita Chekidjian, Chair of the SSAES Board, joined us on behalf of the Board welcome our faculty and staff and wish everyone a wonderful and successful new school year. We are grateful for the Board’s continued support of our school and our mission.

Officer Kerry Kelly from the Watertown Police Department provided our team with a refresher training on ALICE and school safety protocols, including safety procedures and de-escalation strategies. Keeping our students and staff safe remains one of our highest priorities.

Most importantly, our faculty and staff had the opportunity to come together, collaborate, laugh, learn, and get ready for another year of inspiring our students!

We are excited for the classrooms to be filled with curious minds, joyful learning, Armenian language and culture, and friendship!

Here’s to a wonderful 2026–2027 school year!

The St. Stephen's Armenian Elementary School Family mourns the loss of Digin Anahid Kibarian, a beloved and extraordinary educator whose lifelong dedication to Armenian education touched countless lives. As the former Co-Director of the Մուրատ Ազգային Վարժարան/Mourad Armenian School of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church - Providence, RI, Digin Kibarian devoted herself to nurturing generations of students and preserving the Armenian language, faith, and heritage. In recognition of her extraordinary dedication, she was honored by the Catholicos of the Armenian Church for her near 75-year contribution to the community.

Throughout her distinguished career, Digin Kibarian inspired generations of diasporans to embrace their Armenian heritage with pride and to develop a lifelong love for the Armenian language and Church. Among those whose lives she profoundly shaped is our very own Head of School, Dr. Garine Palandjian, for whom Digin Kibarian served as her very first mentor in her journey toward becoming an educator. Alongside her Co-Director, Digin Anahid Arzoumanian, the dynamic duo helped cultivate a passion for teaching and learning Armenian that continues to impact future generations of students and educators worldwide today.

Աստուած Հոգին Լուսաւորէ. Asdvadz hokin lousavore. May God illuminate her soul.
