An officer from the 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 stopped by our classrooms to talk about staying safe, what to do in an emergency, and how police officers help our community. Our students had plenty of questions, and we’re grateful for the time spent answering them!

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 has long-standing partnerships with the 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘆 and 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. Their officers regularly visit our campuses and meet with our students, helping children get to know the people they can turn to when they need help.

🍎 A little apple picking, a little pumpkin hunting, and a whole day outside!

Our 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 visited 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 to pick their own apples, choose pumpkins, and get a closer look at life on a working farm. 🎃🌾

They explored how food grows and the work it takes to bring it from the farm to our tables. There’s something special about learning where an apple comes from while picking one yourself!

🎓 Today, our 𝗨𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 had the opportunity to meet with 𝗗𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘀, 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 from the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗻𝘀𝘆𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮.

Founded in 1740, 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗻 is one of the eight Ivy League universities and one of the oldest universities in the United States. Located in Philadelphia, it is known for combining a strong liberal arts foundation with internationally recognized programs in fields including business, engineering, nursing, and the sciences.

For our students, this was a great opportunity to hear directly from a Penn admissions representative about the college application process, academic programs, campus life, and what universities consider when reviewing applications.

Our students came prepared with plenty of questions - and they weren’t shy about asking them! 😊 They asked about admissions, choosing academic programs, student opportunities, and what makes a strong college application.

Visits like this give students something that websites and brochures simply can’t - a chance to have a real conversation, ask their own questions, and better understand what the college journey may look like for them.

🎭 A Night at the Opera!

Our 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 and 𝗨𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 School students, together with their families, had a wonderful opportunity to attend the dress rehearsal of Rossini’s 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 at the Emerson Colonial Theatre. 🎶✨

It was a special evening to experience professional opera up close - from the music and voices to the sets, costumes, and atmosphere of one of Boston’s historic theatres.

At 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆, we believe some of the most memorable learning happens beyond the classroom. Experiences like this give our students a chance to discover the arts, explore something new, and share it with their school community and families. ⭐️

We’re excited to see 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 graduate 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗸𝘆 off to a strong start at 𝗨𝗖 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝗴𝗼.

Competing in her first event with the Tritons, Alexandra finished 5th in women’s saber at the 𝟯𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 - the top result among UC San Diego’s four competitors in the event. 🔱

This weekend, the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 team joined more than 100 students from 20 schools across Massachusetts for the 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 at 𝗦𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗸 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹. 🇺🇳

Representing Star Academy were Simone Shteyman, David Zellino, Elizabeth Gisser, Max Gershberg, Nicoletta Ptushkina, Jack Dolsak, David Brook, Daniel Medvinsky, and Max Arefolo. ⭐️

Throughout the day, our students stepped into the role of delegates, debating an important global issue: “𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀.”💧🌍

Hours of discussion, negotiation, public speaking, and problem-solving made for a busy day - and a great experience.

Meet 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘆, our new 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 &𝗮𝗺𝗽; 𝗨𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿. 📚✍️

William brings experience teaching English to both middle and high school students, with a strong focus on 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿, 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

He holds a 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝘂𝗳𝘁𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 and a 𝗕.𝗔. 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆. William is also currently pursuing his 𝗠𝗕𝗔 𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲.

His teaching philosophy centers on combining 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. In his classroom, students are encouraged to read closely, write with clarity and purpose, participate thoughtfully in discussions, and develop confidence in expressing their own ideas.

William also enjoys being part of the broader school community. His interests include 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘀, 𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰, and he has experience coaching and mentoring students beyond the classroom.

🌲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Students in 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝟲-𝟭𝟮 recently spent three days at 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗠𝗮𝗵-𝗞𝗲𝗲-𝗡𝗮𝗰 in 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘅, 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘀, for our annual school retreat.
⠀
The September retreat has become an important Star Academy tradition and a special way to begin the new academic year. Leaving the regular classroom environment for a few days gives our students a chance to spend time together, welcome new classmates, build stronger relationships, and connect with teachers and staff in a different setting.
⠀
🏕️ Throughout the retreat, students participated in outdoor activities, team challenges, sports, games, and other activities designed to encourage teamwork, communication, leadership, and school spirit. There was also plenty of time to relax, enjoy the beautiful 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀, share meals, and simply spend time together as a community.

For our new students, the retreat was an opportunity to become part of the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 from the very beginning of the school year. For returning students, it was a chance to reconnect with friends and continue a tradition they already know well.

👏 We are very proud of our students for their participation, positive attitude, and respect for one another throughout the trip.

A special thank you to our 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 and 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 who spent these three days with our students and helped make the retreat safe, organized, and memorable. And, as always, thank you to our 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 for their trust and support.
