Earlier this month, Scolastico was proud to support neurodivergent participation at the Adams Cheese Festival.

What that looked like in practice was a calming corner for children who needed a moment to regulate. Gross motor and fine motor skill activities designed with neurodivergent needs in mind. Sensory activities that invited engagement without overwhelm. And educational materials for families to take with them so the conversation continues beyond the festival grounds.

The goal was simple. Make the kid zone a space where every child could participate fully. Not a separate space off to the side. An all inclusive play space built into the event itself.

This is what intentional inclusion looks like in a community setting. And it is exactly the kind of work we are committed to supporting.

In special education litigation, the most critical evidence is often buried inside the IEP.

PLEPs. Present Levels of Educational Performance. It is the foundation of every IEP and one of the most scrutinized pieces of documentation in a due process hearing. And in most cases, it is where the deficiencies begin.

When the system works as intended, evaluations inform the PLEPs, PLEPs drive the goals, goals shape classroom instruction, and progress reports confirm students are moving forward. When that chain breaks down, the record reveals what Dr. St. Croix calls potholes. Gaps between what was identified, what was planned, and what was actually delivered to the student.

For law firms handling special education matters, identifying those gaps requires someone who understands not just the legal standard but the educational reality behind the documentation. Dr. St. Croix works directly alongside legal teams to analyze curriculum, IEP development, and implementation, pinpointing exactly where the breakdown occurred and building the evidentiary foundation the case needs.

This is what community inclusion looks like in action.

The Lewis County Fair is in its second year of offering sensory-friendly hours for families with neurodivergent children. Music off. Lights dimmed. Rides still running. Just quieter. And for families who have had to sit on the sidelines at events like this, that simple adjustment changes everything.

The stories coming from families and staff say it best. Children who would have otherwise had to skip the rides entirely are now experiencing the joy of the fair alongside everyone else. That is not a small thing. That is the kind of access and inclusion that every neurodivergent child deserves.

What makes this particularly powerful is how little it takes to make it possible. No major infrastructure changes. No significant added cost. Just intentional adjustments that signal to every neurodivergent family in the community that they belong here too.

That is a model every community event and public space should be looking at. Fairs, festivals, sporting events, community gatherings. The blueprint exists. The Lewis County Fair is proving it works.

We are proud to see our local community leading the way. Thank you to the Lewis County Fair for continuing this initiative and to 7 News for bringing this story to the broader community.

This is the kind of progress worth celebrating. And worth replicating.
