One of my favorite things to do each summer is to hire a former student to help at the center. This year Scarlett was a huge help. Every student of mine commented on the fact that I was more organized. 😂

Each and every one of the tutors at Creative Minds is amazing. They spend so much time getting to know the students, planning for what they need, and delivering with expertise and love.  I am so grateful to work with such extraordinary humans. Today, though, I would like to give a special shout out to Mariah Strife Mariah. Mariah goes above and beyond in everything she does in life. She is vibrant, kind, brilliant and beautiful. She attends our students’ plays, recitals, graduations and so much more. in short, she is a rockstar. ⭐️
Today I got this message. ❤️
This is one of so many that I get about her. If your child has had her, you know what I’m talking about.

✏️ Fun fact- I pushed into a wonderful classroom as a literacy coach when little Mariah was in kindergarten amd again when she was in 2nd grade and then was her middle school honors English teacher. ❤️

July has been filled with so much fun, learning, laughter, and growth! 💛 We made wonderful memories, and I can’t wait to see what August has in store.

Parents, teachers, and youth leaders: The Community Foundation’s first summer Youth Philanthropy Experience kicks off Monday, July 27, and it’s not too late for students to secure a seat!

Do you know a Jefferson County student who will be a high school freshman this fall? This FREE weeklong summer experience is exclusively for students who live in Jefferson County and are entering ninth grade this fall.

Participants will learn about giving back to their community through volunteerism, leadership, grantmaking, and other ways they can help nonprofit organizations working to strengthen our communities.

Students who complete the program are also eligible to earn volunteer service hours while learning!

Interested students should visit nnycf.org/summer-ype to obtain an application and apply today.

11 years ago I opened Creative Minds. I wanted to continue teaching, knowing retirement would eventually come, but I never imagined it would grow into such a beautiful place to learn, grow, and belong.
Every student who walks through our doors is special. They each bring their own joy, personality, and authenticity. Every day, at least one kiddo asks me, “Am I your favorite?” And I can honestly answer, “Yes,” to every single one of them. ❤️

Some students crawl right into our hearts and make their home there… these three. ❤️🥹

Three beautiful, kind, intelligent, and fierce young women graduated. It has been such a joy to watch them grow from little girls into confident, compassionate, and remarkable young women. I couldn’t be more proud of each of them. My favorites ❤️👏

⭐️ Congratulations! I can’t wait to see where your next chapter takes you.
We love you, we’re proud of you, and we sure will miss you. 💫
