Jefferson County Public Health Service (JCPHS) offers preventive health programs that provide a broad range of services for county residents which include: communicable disease case investigation for reportable diseases, community screenings & education along with other

services for health and human service agencies, schools, businesses and residents.

JCPHS also has home healthcare services. Home health care provides in-home services such as nursing, home health aides, physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical social worker, registered dietitian and case management. DISCLAIMER:

A raccoon located in the Town of Rutland tested positive for rabies. An unvaccinated dog was euthanized after being attacked by the rabid raccoon. Three individuals reported exposure and will receive rabies preventive treatment.

We’re offering a free 4-day EPA Lead Abatement Supervisor training next month to help local businesses get certified and better protect our community from lead hazards.

This certification can also help businesses meet requirements related to the NYS Lead Rental Registry.

To be eligible for this certification, participants must have: 1 year experience as a certified abatement worker OR at least 2 years experience in a related field.
