The objective for learning at DHS is to provide each student with choices for pursuing academic success. To achieve these goals, the DHS Guidance Department provides an array of services to help students with academic planning, career counseling, and career readiness. Students choose from three types of learning environments within DHS based on their preferred learning style and career aspirations

• DHS Traditional &/or Vocational
• DeKalb New Tech &/or Vocational
• DeKalb Choice Academy
Students have the option of pursuing one of six fields of study:
• Environmental and Agriculture Systems,
• Communication and Information Systems,
• Industrial, Manufacturing, and Engineering Systems,
• Health Sciences,
• Human Services and Resources, and
• Business, Marketing, and Management. These six fields of study are further divided into 16 clusters that lead to multiple career pathways for students. These pathways include:
• Agriculture, Food, Natural Resources,
• Arts, A/V Technology and Communications,
• Information Technology,
• Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics,
• Architecture and Construction,
• Manufacturing,
• Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics,
• Health Sciences,
• Law, Public Safety, and Security,
• Government and Public Administration,
• Human Services,
• Education and Training,
• Marketing,
• Business Management and Administration,
• Hospitality and Tourism, and

The goal for using Facebook by the DeKalb County Central United School District (DCCUSD), all of the schools in the District, and teachers or sponsors associated with those schools, is to share important information with our public and engage in an open and respectful dialogue. Comments regarding a personal issue with the District, a school, or a staff member will be removed. Be respectful. Personal attacks or comments that are deemed offensive to any member of our community will not be tolerated. Inappropriate remarks and profanity will be removed. Want to boost your product sales? Running for a political office? Publish a personal page, and leave ours for sharing news and insights about our District. Stay on topic. This is a page dedicated to the education of students in the DCCUSD. Let’s keep the conversation related to our District. Comments of all kinds are welcome so long as they directly relate to our District. Have a question for a specific employee? Contact them privately. Fans should not expect responses to every question or comment posted on this page. Be aware of the mission. The mission of the DCCUSD is education. Please be certain that your comments are appropriate for an educational environment and fans of all ages. Be factual. Blatantly inaccurate information will not be allowed. False information will be removed and factual information will be posted. All comments and communication must come from a verifiable account. Comments made by individuals who are misrepresenting themselves, representing themselves as someone other than themselves or from unverifiable accounts, will be removed. Employees of the DCCUSD may have personal pages. Don’t be surprised or offended if your request to “friend” them is ignored. District policy encourages staff to keep their personal lives personal. This page is yours and we want you to feel comfortable sharing your views about the DCCUSD. Just know, abuse of the above guidelines can lead to the removal of a specific posting or the blocking/removal from our fan page.
