🚒🔥 A BIG Backyard THANK YOU to the Waterloo Fire Department! ❤️

Today was such a special day at The Backyard Learning Center! Our friends from the Waterloo Fire Department came out to spend time with all of our kiddos and teach them some very important lessons about fire safety! 👩‍🚒🧯

Our kids got to learn about what firefighters do, how to stay safe if there is ever a fire, and why firefighters are our helpers—not people to be afraid of. They even got to see the fire truck up close! 🚒😍

We are so thankful for the men and women who take time out of their busy schedules to educate, encourage, and connect with our little ones. These are the experiences our kids will remember! ❤️

Thank you, Waterloo Fire Department, for being such amazing community helpers and for helping us keep our Backyard kids safe! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒🚒

“Did we just become best friends?” 🥹💛

And just like that… the first week of our new school year is in the books! 🎉

New rooms. 🏫
New friends. 👫
New teachers. 🍎
New adventures. ✨
And a whole lot of excitement for what’s ahead!

There may be a few happy tears, a little nervousness, lots of learning, and plenty of new friendships being made along the way. 💕 We’re so excited to watch our children grow, learn, explore, and make memories together this year.

☀️💙 And just like that… summer has come to an end. 💙☀️

As we look back on Summer 2026, our hearts are full.

Together, we learned, celebrated, splashed, laughed, explored, and grew. We made new friendships, strengthened old ones, discovered new things, and created memories that will stay with us long after the summer sun fades. 🌈

There is something so special about watching children experience summer through their eyes — the excitement of a new adventure, the joy of making a new friend, the freedom of running through water, the pride of learning something new, and the simple happiness found in playing together. 💦☀️

These everyday moments may seem small, but they are the moments that become childhood memories.

To our children: thank you for filling our summer with your laughter, curiosity, energy, and love. You made every day brighter. ❤️

To our families: thank you for trusting us with your most precious gifts and allowing us to be part of their childhood. It is a privilege we never take for granted.

And to our incredible teachers: thank you for giving so much of yourselves to make this summer special. For every hug, every story, every splash, every scraped knee, every laugh, and every “look what I can do!” — thank you. ❤️

Summer may be over, but the friendships, growth, laughter, and memories we made together will stay with us.

What. A. Week. 🐷🐮🌽🎡❤️

Our Backyard family had an absolutely fabulous week filled with friendship, family, farm animals, and all the fun of the fair! From exciting hands-on activities to making unforgettable memories together, there was never a dull moment.

We are so thankful for our amazing children, parent volunteers, Monroe County Farm Bureau, our Teens as Teachers, and dedicated staff who make every week so special. Watching these little smiles grow through play, learning, and adventure is what it’s all about.

Thank you for another incredible week at The Backyard Learning Center! We can’t wait to see what next week’s adventures have in store. Have a safe, relaxing weekend, and we’ll see everyone back Monday ready for more fun! 🚜💚☀️

It’s a jungle out there…well not until you invite a reptilian specialist to your school for a fun summer activity! Even if all the children could not participate in the fun, everyone still had a “wild” time during our “Go Wild” week at The Backyard Learning Center!!

It’s a bird….It’s a plane….NO! It’s the boys and girls and The Backyard Learning Center doing amazing things during our Be A Hero Week! We had a SUPER time playing this week with our friends!!

Wow… we were Wacky & Wonderful all week long! 🌞🎨💦

From sunshine and bounce houses to tie-dye and nonstop laughs, this crew knows how to make summer unforgettable. These kids are truly living their best lives — and we are absolutely here for it, cheering them on every step of the way. ❤️

Summer fun at The Backyard never disappoints!

One of our absolute favorite weeks of Summer Fun is Bootcamp Week with Coach Christene, Coach Spence, and Fast Fitness in the Loo 💪☀️

Our kids have an incredible time challenging themselves and discovering just how strong they are! From races, ropes, jumps, push-ups, and tug-of-war… this week is always a huge hit and full of smiles, teamwork, and determination.

A big thank you to our amazing coaches, teachers, and parent volunteers for helping make this experience so memorable for our kiddos. We love watching them grow stronger and more confident every year! ❤️

Our summer session has been off to a very fun start. We have been having fun in the summer sun with bubbles and bomb pops the first week. During our second week the older children went to the movies to watch Gabbie’s Dollhouse while the center wide celebration was held with our favorite stuffed animals! Summer time fun at The Backyard is the best!!
