🏗️ Capital Project Update: We’re Nearly There! 🌱🏫

We’re excited to share a quick update on our capital project work as we get closer to welcoming students and staff back for the new school year:

⚽ 🥍 New Turf Practice Field�
Work on the new turf practice field is almost done! Crews are finishing the bounce wall at the end of the field, and once that work is complete, topsoil and seed will be spread to the affected surrounding areas.
- 🚶 A Quick Reminder: Crews are asking everyone to use the designated sidewalk around the field and avoid walking through work areas. This will help keep stones and dirt off the field while the new grass gets established. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation!

🏫 Lafayette Intermediate School�
Concrete work is nearly finished, with paving expected to begin in the next week or two.

🏫 Skoi-Yase Primary
Concrete work is close to being completed, and the fencing has already been started.

We are in great shape for the start of school - we’re looking forward to seeing our students back in the buildings, on the sidewalks, and out on the fields. 🎉

🚓 After nearly 20 years of dedicated service as Waterloo Central School District's School Resource Officer, Officer Rod Kraft has officially retired.

From helping launch the district's first School Resource Officer program in 2008 to building meaningful relationships with generations of students, staff, and families, Officer Kraft's impact reaches far beyond school safety. Whether he was chasing the Grinch through the halls or simply taking time to connect with students, his steady presence and genuine care helped make Waterloo a better place.

Thank you, Officer Kraft, for your unwavering commitment to our school community. We wish you all the best in your well-earned retirement! 🧡🖤

This pup was found today wandering around the Waterloo Middle School and is currently safe and contained on a leash.

If this is your dog, please come to the Waterloo Middle School main office as soon as possible to bring it home.

☀️ Summer learning is in full swing at WCSD!

This summer, Waterloo Central School District is proud to support the Summer Recreation Program by providing an Enrichment Coordinator, who works alongside recreation staff to plan exciting, hands-on activities, coordinate schedules, secure supplies, and bring in engaging vendors to make every day memorable for our students.

From "Healthy Me, Healthy We" 🥕 to STEM Week 🏗️, students have been learning, creating, and having fun all summer long! They whipped up healthy snacks, stayed active with games like Sharks and Minnows and Human Alphabet, engineered towering marshmallow-and-spaghetti creations, and even enjoyed an interactive visit from The Bubbleman, who wowed students while teaching the science behind gravity, surface tension, and evaporation through an unforgettable live bubble show.

A huge thank you to the $50,000 Upward Mobility Grant for making these enriching summer experiences possible. Seeing our students learn, explore, and have fun together has made this summer one to remember! 🧡🖤
