We had a fun morning celebrating Columbus's Homecoming Week. CHS student members of the marching band, cross country, football, volleyball, swimming, diving, dance, fall play, and cheer team visited Saint Edward sharing fun moments of their seasons with our students. It comes full circle when high school students from our system can return to the elementary buildings to share their gifts and highlight the multiple opportunities they have experienced. It gets our younger students excited to think about their future as a Sailor! πŸ’šβš“οΈπŸˆπŸƒπŸΌπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸŽΊπŸŽ·πŸπŸŠπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ“£πŸ’ƒπŸΌπŸŽ! WE ARE FIRED UP! βš“

Luceat Lux Vestra - Let Your Light Shine! Our school year theme challenges us to share our Light with others. As a Lighthouse school we are all in on this theme! Today our students created a schoolwide project to remind us all year that our mission is to be Christ's light to one another. This reminder will sit beside our mission statement in our Leadership Notebook to help guide us each day.

Saint Edward School is a Lighthouse School!
On Thursday, some special guests helped share the news! We celebrated as a school family with dancing and fun!

We are so honored to have been awarded this distinction! There are 5,000 Leader in Me schools in 55 countries, only 12% are designated as a Lighthouse School. Saint Edward Elementary is the 6th Leader Valley School to receive this prestigious honor.

Much like a lighthouse provides direction and guidance for those around them, Lighthouse Schools are seen as models of continual growth in leadership, culture, and academic achievement. What sets Saint Edward School apart from other Lighthouse Schools in the Cedar Valley is that we can layer our students' interactions and experiences with faith as the cornerstone. We are the hands of Christ. Student leadership jobs, setting goals, supporting each other, and being servant leaders does not come easy and is not without sacrifice of time from our staff members.

Why do this? It is about purpose. We do it for our kids. At Saint Edward, our mission is to provide an exceptional Catholic education for every student, built on a foundation of faith, discipline, knowledge, and service. We are helping our students find their vocation on their path to sainthood. We are so thankful our school family is with us on this journey! Without your direct support and prayers this recognition would not be possible. We also want to thank our friends at Leader Valley! Teri, Melissa, and Gina, thank you for being phenomenal models of what leadership looks like for our community! Thank you!
