Waterloo Elementary

Waterloo Elementary Welcome to Waterloo Elementary! Home of the Waterloo Discover Academy! Waterloo Elementary is a “hands-on” Project-Based Learning (PBL) environment. Be factual.

Waterloo Elementary has a partnership with the New Tech Network (NTN). This partnership has gradually evolved into a whole-school PBL learning environment. Teachers and staff have transformed into facilitators, and work continuously to improve their craft in the interest of best meeting students’ needs. Students are also learning with an approach where everyday instruction reinforces the school’s

culture built on trust, respect, and responsibility. In partnership with the NTN, Waterloo Discovery Academy’s PBL model will continue to evolve in keeping with the District’s core values for continuous improvement. Each year, students will continue to be exposed to learn in new ways, including:

• Collaborate on meaningful projects
• Develop critical thinking skills
• Learning to think creatively, and become better
communicators
• Engage in solving challenging questions, and complex
problems. Social Media Rules of Engagement
The goal for using Facebook by the DeKalb County Central United School District (DCCUSD), all of the schools in the District, and teachers or sponsors associated with those schools, is to share important information with our public and engage in an open and respectful dialogue. To help us accomplish this goal we ask that you abide by the following guidelines: Open conversation not personal issues. This page is not intended to circumvent regular communication channels for sharing personal issues and concerns. Comments regarding a personal issue with the District, a school, or a staff member will be removed. Be respectful. Personal attacks or comments that are deemed offensive to any member of our community will not be tolerated. Inappropriate remarks and profanity will be removed. Want to boost your product sales? Running for a political office? Publish a personal page, and leave ours for sharing news and insights about our District. Stay on topic. This is a page dedicated to the education of students in the DCCUSD. Let’s keep the conversation related to our District. Comments of all kinds are welcome so long as they directly relate to our District. Have a question for a specific employee? Contact them privately. Fans should not expect responses to every question or comment posted on this page. Be aware of the mission. The mission of the DCCUSD is education. Please be certain that your comments are appropriate for an educational environment and fans of all ages. Blatantly inaccurate information will not be allowed. False information will be removed and factual information will be posted. All comments and communication must come from a verifiable account. Comments made by individuals who are misrepresenting themselves, representing themselves as someone other than themselves or from unverifiable accounts, will be removed. Employees of the DCCUSD may have personal pages. Don’t be surprised or offended if your request to “friend” them is ignored. District policy encourages staff to keep their personal lives personal. This page is yours and we want you to feel comfortable sharing your views about the DCCUSD. Just know, abuse of the above guidelines can lead to the removal of a specific posting or the blocking/removal from our fan page.

Today's game day was extra special as it featured a former Wildcat who is now a Baron. Best of luck, Violet!!!
