Whether you wore the green and gold or cheered from the stands, you know the names: the teammate who set the standard, the coach who pushed players further, the team that packed the gym, the fan who never missed a game.

We were blessed to welcome Archbishop Zinkula to our schools! He celebrated Mass, visited classrooms and joined our students for lunch. We are grateful for the time he spent getting to know our CVCS community and sharing in our faith. 💚

We're beyond proud to share this beautiful story, produced by CVCS alum Chris Hansen (Class of 2005), honoring Gary Schnieders as he retires from Columbus Catholic High School after an incredible 50 years in the classroom! 👏📚

Fifty years of showing up for students, shaping minds, and leaving a legacy that stretches across generations — that's the kind of dedication that deserves to be celebrated far and wide. And what a full-circle moment to have one of our own alumni be the one to tell it.

Congratulations on your retirement, Gary — and thank you, Chris, for telling this story so well. Take a few minutes to watch — it's worth it.

As he prepares for retirement and is recognized as a 2026 Hall of Fame inductee, we are gathering memories, congratulations, and messages of gratitude to share with him.

If you have a favorite memory, photo, video, or message for Gary, we would love to include it as part of his celebration. Video messages and written messages can be emailed to [email protected] by June 8.
