New faces, a new school year, and a great start to the year ahead! 💚

Our newest CVCS staff members gathered for New Staff Orientation alongside members of the CVCS Leadership Team. The day gave our new staff a chance to learn more about our schools, connect with one another, and prepare for the year ahead.

We’re so excited to welcome them to the Cedar Valley Catholic Schools community and can’t wait to see the impact they make in our classrooms and schools this year. Welcome to CVCS! ✨

Love is Alive! 💚💛

Our 2026–2027 school year theme is rooted in 1 John 4:19: “We love because He first loved us.” Throughout the year, our students and staff will focus on what it means to receive God’s love and share it through the way we learn, serve and care for one another.

We have already seen this theme come to life through Catholic Heart Work Camp, where 250 campers and adults formed 39 teams and completed more than 30 service projects throughout the Cedar Valley.

Inspired by St. Mother Teresa’s words, “Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier,” we look forward to seeing God’s love continue to grow throughout our schools and community this year.

For so many Columbus students, Mr. Schnieders made learning feel bigger than the classroom.

From AP Euro trips to everyday moments at Columbus, Gary has impacted generations of students, families, coworkers, and friends throughout his time here. As he prepares for retirement and is recognized as a 2026 Hall of Fame inductee, we are gathering memories, congratulations, and messages of gratitude to share with him.
