This year, we say goodbye to Sherri Heath, who is retiring after more than 30 years of dedicated service in Waterford Child Development.

Sherri’s impact on the children and families of our community is truly immeasurable. For more than three decades, she created a classroom filled with care, consistency, patience, and love, helping shape the earliest learning experiences of countless young children. Her compassion and commitment have left a lasting mark not only on her students, but on generations of families throughout Waterford.

Thank you, Sherri, for the heart you brought to your work each and every day. Your legacy will continue to be felt for years to come. We wish you all the best in your well deserved retirement.

Last week we celebrated Read Across America Week, and it was a wonderful experience for the children. Throughout the week, the children had the opportunity to dress up and participate in fun themed activities. One of the highlights was when the children got to taste Green Eggs and Ham, inspired by the beloved book by Dr. Seuss.

The week ended on a special note when literacy students from Waterford High School visited the classrooms and read stories to the children. It was a great way to encourage a love of reading and build connections between the high school students and our younger learners.

Reminder! Our next Family Night, "Understanding Your Child's IEP" is tonight at 4:30pm in the Waterford Junior High Gym.
If you have a child receiving special education services, we highly encourage you to join us for this information night. We will be walking you through the sections of an IEP, and sharing how you can better advocate for your child and participate in IEP meetings.
