On Tuesday night the Waterford Communications Center received multiple 911 calls for the report of a vehicle into a house. Engine 1 and Squad 4 responded to the incident, arriving on scene in just minutes. On arrival, it was confirmed that a vehicle had crashed into a residence. The operator was still in the vehicle when emergency services arrived. The operator, with assistance from the fire department was able to exit the vehicle through the passenger side, and was then evaluated by Waterford Ambulance. The resident was home and inside the residence at the time of the incident, but was unharmed. They were evaluated on scene as well.

Squad 4 stretching the bumper line and extinguishing a vehicle fire yesterday evening. The incident occurred on Waterford Parkway North just before 7:30PM.

Just before 11:00 PM last night, Waterford Truck 1 responded mutual aid to New London, along with multiple other area departments for a 2 Alarm fire in a residential structure.

Back Again! This time, we get to see the crew from Engine 5 extinguish a commercial vehicle fire that happened this morning just before 5:00 AM.

In the video, you’ll see E5’s rider quickly stretch a hand line and extinguish the fire that had started extending into the box of the box truck.

The last 24 - 48 hours have been incredibly busy for the Waterford Fire Department, responding to emergency after emergency. In between calls, we had the opportunity to make one very special stop.

Yesterday, our good friend Theo celebrated his 3rd birthday! Theo is a huge fan of fire trucks and firefighters, so Truck 1 crew was happy to stop by to surprise him with a birthday gift and let him and his friends climb aboard the ladder truck.

Seeing the smiles on their faces was a great reminder of why we love serving our community—not just during emergencies, but by creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Yesterday morning, just after 7:00 AM, your Waterford firefighters from Group 2 responded to a vehicle fire in close proximity to a residence.

Truck 1 was on the road, returning from a Fire Alarm and was first due. In the video, you’ll see Truck 1’s rider extinguishing the fire. Engine 1 & Squad 4 arrived and assisted with water supply and extinguishment.

Later in the day, just before 4:00 PM, Truck 1 responded mutual aid to New London for a working fire in an attached garage.
