🏅 FCCCT PRIDE: Alex Asso-Gonzalez Qualifies for FBLA Nationals!
We are thrilled to give a special shout-out to Alex Asso-Gonzalez, a senior from Forbes Road High School who is making waves across multiple industries!

Alex is a rare "dual-threat" student here at the CTC, currently enrolled in both our Automotive Technology and Computer Systems Networking programs. This unique combination of mechanical skill and digital expertise was on full display recently at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Hershey, PA.

Competing against the best in the state, Alex demonstrated his mastery of the tech world by advancing to the Top 15 in the Technology Support and Services category. After a rigorous objective test and a high-stakes role-play scenario, Alex earned Third Place in Pennsylvania!

Next Stop: San Antonio!
By finishing in the top four, Alex has officially qualified to compete at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Texas this June.

Eight students from Forbes Road High School recently attended the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Students qualified for the State Leadership Conference (SLC) by placing fourth or higher at the Regional Leadership Conference (RLC) held in January. Each student was required to complete an objective test in a category of their choice.

At the SLC, students again completed a test in the same category. The top 15 students in the state were then required to participate in a role-play scenario. Senior Alex Asso-Gonzalez advanced to the top 15. Final results were determined by combining the scores from the objective test and the role-play rubric, and awards were presented during the closing ceremony. At the awards ceremony, Alex earned third place in Technology Support and Services.

The top four finishers in each category at the SLC qualify to compete at the National Leadership Conference, which will be held in San Antonio, Texas, in June. Congratulations to Alex for qualifying for Nationals and to all the students who proudly represented Forbes Road at the conference.

Three Forbes Road High School seniors recently signed their letter of intent to play sports in college.

Camden Lupey is the son of James and Lori Lupey of Waterfall, PA. Camden will be studying nursing at Geneva College in Butler Falls, PA, and will be a member of their golf team.

Jacoby Knepper is the son of Scott and Angel Knepper of Waterfall, PA. Jacoby will be studying business management at Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA, and will be a member of the basketball team.

Sawyer Hollibaugh is the son of Tyson and Kate Hollibaugh of Fort Littleton, PA. Sawyer will be studying electrical engineering at Bucks County Community College in Newtown, PA, and will be a member of the baseball team.

Our STEM K’Nex Competition students did a fantastic job presenting their projects today! I am incredibly proud of all of their hard work, creativity, and willingness to take on the challenge of being innovators.

A special congratulations to our 6th grade team, The Filter 4, who earned Second Place with an impressive score of 22/24 points on the rubric! 🎉

Another strong showing came from The K’Nex Queens, who earned 19.5 out of 24 points, making them our second-highest scoring team.

There were 11 teams competing in the 6–8 grade band, and judges shared that the top 7 teams were within a half point of each other or tied, which speaks to how competitive the event was. While only first through third place are officially recognized, all of our teams represented our school extremely well.

As with many judged events, scoring can vary slightly depending on the judge’s perspective and feedback style. Regardless, our students handled themselves with professionalism and should be very proud of their efforts.

In my book, all of our teams are winners. It takes courage, problem-solving, and dedication to develop an idea and present it to others—and they did just that.
