Relate through Reading 📖
Reading readiness starts long before children can decode words—it begins with connection. In kindergarten, it’s all about building bridges between stories and real life.
Through play, art, and meaningful activities, children learn to connect with stories in ways that feel exciting and personal. When they act out a story, draw their favorite parts, or talk about how a character feels, they’re doing more than having fun—they’re building the foundation for reading.
When children become excited about storytelling, they *want* to read. And from that excitement grows a love for writing, creating, and sharing their own stories. ✨📚

Our upper elementary and high school students have been diving into the art of storytelling in a meaningful way! 📝✨
This week, they created “life maps” — visual timelines highlighting key moments, memories, and experiences that have shaped who they are. From small everyday joys to big turning points, each map tells a unique story.
Next, they’ll use these maps as a foundation to craft personal narratives, turning their reflections into powerful pieces of writing. It’s been inspiring to see their creativity, self-awareness, and voices come to life in such thoughtful ways.
We can’t wait to read their stories! 💙

enCOMPASSing Christ 💫
In Bible class, we made special compasses based on Proverbs 2 🧭
Each direction reminded us to walk in the way of goodness, follow the paths of righteousness, and grow in wisdom as we listen to God each day.
A reminder to “encompass” Christ in everything we do, letting Him guide our path. 🏞️

They led a fun and engaging mini music lesson, sharing their talents and singing songs with our students. It was a joyful experience filled with learning, rhythm, and great music. We’re so grateful they took the time to inspire our students and spark their love for the arts!
