On Monday, May 4, WTA President Kevin Egan, Dr. Schwartz, Rep Ron Napoli along with other city officials visited Crosby High School to share some welcome news with a group of seniors gathered in the media center. The Connecticut General Assembly has passed special legislation allowing Waterbury to waive the four school days that were originally scheduled to be made up after the citywide water main break earlier this year.

For our high school seniors, that announcement came with an immediate payoff: their last day of school will now be June 18 instead of June 25. It’s a well‑earned early start to summer — and great news for all of our students across the district. Conversations will now continue to discuss implications on all staff.

The 2 hour delay for today, Wed, Feb 25, 2026 has now been changed to NO SCHOOL!!

Once again, the WTA will Sponsor United Diagnostic Health Screenings for our members.

As a result of our continued commitment to the health and wellness of our members, the WTA will be partnering with United Diagnostic Service to host a health screening event on February 16 - 21, 2026.

This early detection diagnostic screening has proved to be successful in identifying early detection for cancer and cardiovascular issues. All tests are ultrasound based and therefore painless and non-invasive. Please see the attached flyer for more information on the tests and how to register.

The event location has changed and it is now being held at the Greek Orthodox Church in Waterbury located at 937 Chase Parkway. Funds from your Health Savings Account can be used for this.
