📚 Bringing History to Life!

Our 9th graders stepped into the role of historians as they created their own historical sources and wrote narratives about the history of our campus! Using school yearbooks as primary sources, students explored the past, uncovered stories, and practiced the art of historical storytelling.

They had a lot of fun with this creative assignment while getting an introduction to the process of writing historical narratives! 🏫📖✨

👟 Design Process in Action! 📦

Students in our PLTW class put the Design Process to work with a hands-on Cardboard Shoe Challenge! Students were challenged to design and construct a wearable shoe using cardboard, taking their ideas from an initial concept to a finished product.

Throughout the project, students identified the design problem, brainstormed ideas, created plans and sketches, built prototypes, tested their designs, and made improvements along the way. The challenge encouraged creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, perseverance, and hands-on engineering skills.

The best part? Seeing their ideas become something they could actually wear! Great work by our student designers! 👏👟

🌎💧 Exploring Global Access to Clean Water!

Our 7th grade students are beginning their research into countries around the world where access to clean, safe water remains a challenge. Through their research, they’ll explore the causes, impacts, and potential solutions to this important global issue while developing their skills in research, critical thinking, and global awareness. 🌍🔎

We’re excited to see where their learning takes them!

📚🇺🇸 Deep Dive into the Foundations of Our Government!

Our 10th grade Civics students are taking a closer look at our nation’s founding documents to explore how the ideals of the American Revolution helped shape the structure of our government.

Through close reading, discussion, and evidence-based reasoning, students are examining the principles behind our system of government and making their case for whether the United States qualifies as a Federal Democratic Republic. 🇺🇸📜

It’s civics in action—connecting the ideas of the past to the government we have today!

📸 Seeing the World Through a Different Lens!

Students in Digital Photography got hands-on experience working with DSLR cameras as they explored the art of photographic composition. They are learning to look at everyday, ordinary objects in new and creative ways—experimenting with perspective, angles, and unique points of view.

We’re already seeing some amazing creativity from our photographers as they discover that sometimes, it’s all about looking at the familiar in a whole new way! 📷✨

🧬 Biology in Action! 🔬

Students in Biology collaborated on a Living or Non-Living Card Sort activity! Working together, they classified different examples and used the eight characteristics of living things to justify and defend their thinking.

Through collaboration, discussion, and scientific reasoning, students were putting their biology knowledge into action! 🧠✨

🔬💻⚙️ STEAM in Action! 🎨📐

Last week in STEAM, our students began exploring what each letter in STEAM represents. Through hands-on challenges focused on Science, Technology, and Engineering, students put their creativity and critical-thinking skills to work while practicing communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and innovative thinking.

This week, we’re completing our STEAM introduction by diving into Art and Math! 🎨📊 Students will discover how creativity, design, patterns, measurement, and mathematical thinking connect to STEAM—and how all five disciplines come together to help us think creatively, solve problems, and tackle real-world challenges.

We’re excited to see where their curiosity and creativity take them! 🚀✨
