Shoutout to Mrs. Kellough, who clearly knows how to commit to the role. Last week she was our human stop sign, and this morning she showed up as a giant crayon.

📢 Public Notice: Intent to Apply for Federal ESSA Funds & Request for Public Comment

Waskom Independent School District formally announces its intent to apply for federal funds under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), for the 2026–2027 school year.

Waskom ISD intends to apply for funding through the following federal programs:

📚 Title I, Part A — Improving Basic Programs
👩‍🏫 Title II, Part A — Supporting Effective Instruction
🎓 Title IV, Part A — Student Support and Academic Enrichment
💬 We Want Your Feedback!

As part of the ESSA federal grant application process, Waskom ISD is seeking input from parents and families, teachers and other school staff, school leaders, students, community stakeholders, and other interested parties regarding the use and prioritization of these federal funds.

Your input will help inform the district’s planning and allocation of ESSA resources and will be considered as Waskom ISD develops and submits its ESSA Consolidated Federal Grant Application.

Friday Flashback 🐾📸

Our first week was full of smiles, hugs, high-fives, learning, laughter, and lots of love for our Wildcats.

There’s just something special about having our kids back in the halls and watching our staff do what they do best, love on kids and make Waskom feel like home.

What a great first week, and we’ve only just begun. 🤍🐾

Our campuses were filled with smiles, excitement, and so much Wildcat spirit! We hope every student walked through our doors today knowing just how loved, valued, and special they are.
