Students and families are invited to attend the second annual Future Planning Event at Mat-Su Career & Technical High School on February 26 from 6 to 8 pm.This year, the theme is “What’s Your E?” (Employ, Enlist, or Enroll).
One of the goals is to encourage students to consider their future and decide whether they want to pursue employment, enlist in the military, or enroll in higher education.
The format will be similar to a job fair or college fair. There will be rows of tables for students and families to visit.
Senior Goal: Talk to different companies and possible future employers. Learn about next steps for interning, job training opportunities, going straight to work, attending college, or joining the military.
Junior Goal: Think about what the next steps might be. Plan for senior year. What classes are needed for the job? What certifications would be helpful? Are there summer work and/or internship opportunities?
