Hello, it has the come that time! I have one full time spot coming available starting this mid August/beginning September. My hours are from 6 am through 5:30 pm and I’m zoned for Iditarod Elementary. I am centrally located in wasilla close to Wasilla high school off of Peck st. I am open to all ages, unfortunately I am not wanting to take in young infants at this time, moving out of the baby equipment in my home (swings, bouncers, baby food)

A little about me, I have owned Little Explorers Childcare for 7 years. Before that I have worked in childcare for over 20 years. I am fully licensed which means I am able to accept daycare assistance, participate in the food program and also follow state of Alaska regulations for your child’s safety. I am licensed for up to 8 children at a time and run the daycare out of my home. The ages that I am able to care for range from 6 weeks through 12 years. Currently I have children aged from 18 months through 10 years old.

I provide all home cooked meals/snacks and activities. I also have a 12 passenger van which means we are able to do field trips. The one thing I do not provide is diapers and wipes.

My house is like a second home for all that come through my doors. My current families have all been long term families with me and I am sad to see the few go but thankful I have had the opportunity to help their children grow and now have lifelong friends. I am hoping to find more long term families to fill their spots. If this sounds like a fit for you please reach out to me.

Hello all Little Explorers followers!

I wanted to reach out to everyone for an update on possible openings for this coming fall. And a reminder about my daycare and update with some current changes. So with that being said I may have potentially 2-4 full time spots that will be coming available this fall. I am preferring to stay away from young infants(under 4/5 months) at this time. This is the largest turn over since I opened 7 years ago, I have loved every minute of helping these kids grow up but sadly they cannot stay with me forever.

So here is the reminder and a few updates to my daycare. I am a licensed home daycare that accepts 8 children ranging from 6 weeks to 12 years which is located off of Peck st close to Wasilla High School. I am also a mom to 4 kids, but only two are still at home and attend my daycare. I have worked in early childcare for over 25 years spanning anywhere from large centers and schools to my now my home daycare. My heart definitely belongs in the home daycare and love that I can provide such quality and personal care to my families.

My hours for my daycare are from 6:00am-5:30pm with potential to stay later at times as I am licensed to work until 8pm. Being a single mom I try to dedicated after 5ish though to my kids as they share their mom daily with so many other children and families. I provide all meals for the children, breakfast, lunch, dinner (if approved to stay that late) and all snacks. I work with the local USDA food program to ensure I am providing healthy meals for your children.

How to enroll! In the past I have not accepted a waitlist as I usually do not have any openings, possibly one a year. But with the possibility of such a large turn over this fall I am going to start a waitlist. I will announce the openings as I get them, my current families will give a 30 day notice so I will not know for sure until they officially give notice. Once I do get notice unfortunately it is not a first come first serve basis. I do interview potential families prior to enrollment. This is to help ensure you will be a good fit for my daycare and also safety for current families and myself as each family has access to my home.

What an amazing field trip!! The kids had so much fun doing a scavenger hunt through the museum looking for their listed items! Then ended with a fun adventure in the Dino pits and lunch. Thank you to my chaperone Ryan and to all the kids for being so amazing, I have the best group of kids ever!

Today is this amazing baby’s last day! I am forever honored to have been able to care for her from 3 months old to 18 months! Little miss was the youngest in our home and definitely the loved baby by all the daycare kids! We got to watch her change from the tiny baby to a smart and sweet toddler. We experienced all the firsts with her, snuggled her when she was sick and just became family! It is moments like today that makes it hard to see them go, but knowing the love we got to share with her in my house while watching her grow was worth every tear that will be shed today. We are going to miss you baby girl but glad we still get to watch you grow up 🥰
