Hello all Little Explorers followers!

I wanted to reach out to everyone for an update on possible openings for this coming fall. And a reminder about my daycare and update with some current changes. So with that being said I may have potentially 2-4 full time spots that will be coming available this fall. I am preferring to stay away from infants or young toddlers at this time. This is the largest turn over since I opened 7 years ago, I have loved every minute of helping these kids grow up but sadly they cannot stay with me forever.

So here is the reminder and a few updates to my daycare. I am a licensed home daycare that accepts 8 children ranging from 6 weeks to 12 years which is located off of Peck st close to Wasilla High School. I am also a mom to 4 kids, but only two are still at home and attend my daycare. I have worked in early childcare for over 25 years spanning anywhere from large centers and schools to my now my home daycare. My heart definitely belongs in the home daycare and love that I can provide such quality and personal care to my families.

My hours for my daycare are from 6:00am-5:00pm with potential to stay later at times as I am licensed to work until 8pm. Being a single mom I try to dedicated after 5ish though to my kids as they share their mom daily with so many other children and families. I provide all meals for the children, breakfast, lunch, dinner (if approved to stay that late) and all snacks. I work with the local USDA food program to ensure I am providing healthy meals for your children.

New(ish) to my daycare! I have a 12 passenger van and will be providing transport (most days, not on extreme weather days) to midnight Sun charter school and either to Larson or Iditarod if Larson sadly closes. So if you have younger ones please be aware they will come with and assist with pick ups and drop offs. I do travel and treat all the kids as one big functional family. We currently range in ages from 10 years to 18 months and yes all the kids work together amazingly with such a large age span. We also do field trips and at times will go to the big kids school to watch day time plays or assist with activities.

How to enroll! In the past I have not accepted a waitlist as I usually do not have any openings, possibly one a year. But with the possibility of such a large turn over this fall I am going to start a waitlist. I will announce the openings as I get them, my current families will give a 30 day notice so I will not know for sure until they officially give notice. Once I do get notice unfortunately it is not a first come first serve basis. I do interview potential families prior to enrollment. This is to help ensure you will be a good fit for my daycare and also safety for current families and myself as each family has access to my home.

What an amazing field trip!! The kids had so much fun doing a scavenger hunt through the museum looking for their listed items! Then ended with a fun adventure in the Dino pits and lunch. Thank you to my chaperone Ryan and to all the kids for being so amazing, I have the best group of kids ever!

Looking for a great dance studio, Registration is open for fall classes!

This coming school year I will have availability during school hours. I am willing to negotiate short and long term, non permanent positions for families that are only needing care during the day while school is in session. The available hours would be 10am through 4pm Monday through Friday. Unfortunately at this time I have no full time for before/after school care available. Finally the summer feeling has hit! Got all the bubbles out yesterday! Cross our fingers for some water play today! ☀️

IT’S THAT TIME MATSUVIANS!!!!

FOOD 4 KIDS, our summer feeding program, will begin in one week’s time & we are really excited to see you all again this year 🤩

We will be at our 2 usual sites:
- Wonderland Park & Wasilla Lake (Newcomb Park), Monday through Friday, from 11:30am to 1pm.

- We serve ALL Valley youth, up to & including the age of 18.

- The only day we won’t be there is Friday, the 4th of July, but we’ll be in the parade so come cheer us on! 🇺🇸

- July 26
- August 9

Spring time is so reviving to these little souls as it welcomes new things to explore after such long and dark winter days! We have a new batch of chicks that have grown into teenagers! Our frog eggs have hatched and now we get to watch them grow from tadpoles into frogs! We are working on our garden and flower pots all while enjoying NOT having to bundle up in our jackets!

The count down is on! We can hear the chicks now from the eggs, just patiently waiting for them to hatch hopefully tomorrow!
