Fronteras is a distinctive bilingual educational community offering students in grades K-8 the opportunity to become fluent in Spanish while developing a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, in the Mat-Su Valley.
Purpose

Expanding the spectrum of thought and the ability to communicate in today's evolving world makes the goal of acquiring a second language profoundly important. Being immersed part of each day in Spanish; each child will be nurtured, gaining well-rounded personal development through meaningful and creative academic and social explorations. Fronteras Charter School utilizes the partnership of parents, community resources, technology, skilled instructors, service, and stimulating curriculum to realize high academic success, language acquisition, critical thinking, good citizenship, and the development of healthy, global minded individuals.

🐦‍🔥What an incredible showing from our Fronteras Elementary XC Running Team today at the Knight Invitational! Our athletes took 2nd place overall, with TWO of our boys finishing in the TOP 10! 🎉👏

We are SO proud of all of our runners and the hard work, determination, and Fronteras spirit they showed out on the course!🐦‍🔥

And a HUGE thank you to our amazing coaches for all of the time, energy, encouragement, and heart they pour into our kiddos. 💙 We are incredibly grateful for everything you do to support our athletes and make this season such a positive and memorable experience!

🎨🌎 Alfombra de Aserrín 2026! 🌎🎨

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, our 4th and 5th grade artists will collaborate to create a MASSIVE Alfombra de Aserrín (Sawdust Carpet) outside in the Fronteras parking lot!

✨ 140 feet long
✨ 600 pounds of hand-dyed sawdust
✨ Created by our amazing Fronteras artists!

Join us on Tuesday, September 29th from 9:00–11:00 AM to watch this incredible artwork come to life! The Alfombra will remain on display for one day, with plans to take it down on Wednesday, September 30th.

A special thank you to our amazing art teacher, Mrs. Franck, for bringing so much culture, history, and meaning into art at Fronteras. We are so grateful for the experiences she creates for our students! ❤️🎨

Today our Kindergarten students kicked off Bike Week in PE, having fun and building confidence on their Strider bikes! 🌟

Strider bikes are a fantastic way for young children to develop important foundational skills. Because they don’t have pedals, students learn to balance, steer, coordinate their movements, and control their speed—all while having fun and gaining confidence on two wheels.

Using a Strider bike also helps children develop:
💪 Gross motor skills and core strength
⚖️ Balance and body control
🧠 Coordination and spatial awareness
🚦 Listening, stopping, and safety skills
😊 Confidence, independence, and a love of being active

These early experiences help set children up for success when they’re ready to transition to a pedal bike. Most importantly, our KG students are learning that being active can be fun, exciting, and something to be proud of! We are so thankful for Mrs. Hill, for making sure our students get the most out of PE!

We can’t wait to see their skills grow throughout Bike Week! 🚲💨💛
