We love getting updates on what our former dancers are up to, and we are so excited to share what Briana Gonzalez has been doing! (You may recognize her as our beautiful snow queen last year in the Alaskan Nutcracker) Briana is currently a member of the Professional Division of Alabama Ballet’s Day Program. While she is not yet a company member, she has the opportunity to train alongside the company several days a week, audition for company productions, and perform with the company in smaller community programs. Her first performance is coming up September 26, and she is so excited!
Her days are definitely busy—she dances from 9:00–2:30 each day, with additional evening and weekend rehearsals when productions are underway. When she manages to find a few free hours, she also works as a server at Olive Garden!
Briana is sharing an apartment with four other dancers and is loving this new chapter and all the new experiences that come along with it.
Before moving to Alabama, Briana was a member of the Grand Rapids Ballet Junior Company, where she had the incredible opportunity to dance the lead role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz!
We love watching our former Sonja’s Studio dancers continue pursuing their love of dance, and we can’t wait to see what comes next for Bri! We sure miss you Bri! Keep killing it!

We love getting to cheer on our dancers even after they leave the studio!
We are so proud of Emily, who headed off to college this fall and is continuing her love of dance as a member of the Montana Griz Dance Team!
It is so fun for us to watch dancers who grew up in our studio take their training, hard work, and love for performing on to their next adventure. We are incredibly proud of Emily and can’t wait to watch her shine at the collegiate level!
We’ll be cheering you on all the way from Alaska, Emily! Go Griz!
