Thank you Nitsches Meats & Deli and their customers for your weekly donation of shoes. Nitsches is located at 52175 VanDyke and is one of our drop off locations in Shelby Township.
Did you know the average American owns 15 pairs of shoes? Shoes Saves Lives. Help Kids At Play with their Shoe Drive Fun-Raiser and donate some of the shoes you have in your closet. Your donation will clean your closet, save our environment without sending the shoes to the trash, shoes are sent to 25 developing countries where a child must have a pair of shoes to go to school, micro-enterprises are established to refurbish and sell shoes on their streets, entrepreneurs are able to feed their families, and Kids At Play receives $$ per pound of shoes which will help us buy outside musical instruments to be installed in 2021 at River Bends Park. We have 2 weeks to reach our goal of 3,000 pairs of shoes! We are half way there! This is a WIN WIN WIN WIN for everyone! As we were reviewing our Shoe Drive for 2018 in Macomb County we were amazed to realize we had such an impact on our community. Linda-Ann is known by Kiwanis as the “Shoe Lady” and has been collecting gently used and new shoes for the last three years. In 2018 we collected over 10,000 pairs of shoes.. A portion of the monies from the Shoe Drives were donated to the Michigan District of Kiwanis for the Eliminate Project and to the Whispering Woods Kids At Play Project. Thank you to all the individuals, organizations, and businesses for your part in making our Shoe Drive successful.
