Norman B. Hevel Elementary School

Hevel GOTR just completed year 10! Participants celebrated by participating in a 5k Run at St. Clair Metro Beach where girls in grades 3-5 set out to accomplish their running goals while having fun with family and friends. We congratulate ALL of their “BOLD Hearts” and determination!
In addition, as part of the program, our GOTR team organized and prepared “Snacks for Seniors” for our Community Impact Project. Our team was able to spread some cheer at our local Orchard Grove Senior Center. Way to go, Team Hevel!

The Hevel Jr. Kindness Club had their end of the year meeting and celebrated the year with donuts, a presentation from some upper el club members and the placing of their painted rocks in the front walkway!!

Congratulations to the 4th grade Little Inventors that were honored at the event at the High School on Wednesday! A special congratulations also goes to Nadia, who had her invention brought to life by the High School students. Little Inventors that were honored but not pictured are Scarlett and Marcus.

We are so proud of these girls and our staff that has been coaching them up and building confidence for months now. Today was our Girls on the Run big run and their positive energy was infectious!!!

Students did a great job with our spirit day of “Anything but a backpack”!

Upper El Kindness Club brightened the entrances of our school with colorful flowers to spread cheer and smiles to all who enter Hevel Elementary. Thank you for all the donations!!

The Jr Kindness Club painted rocks which will be placed in the front walkway to beautify the school grounds.

I just got word that our amazing Science Olympiad team took 4th place overall out of 84 teams that attended today’s competition!!!!! This is the highest finish that Hevel has ever had! Such an amazing accomplishment!!!!

Thursday morning our staff got to enjoy a catered breakfast from Zio's Catering and coffee donated by Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop!

We’re glad they have been taking time to sit down together this week and enjoy all the delicious food and spend time with one another. You can tell the staff truly enjoy working together, and that’s just one of the many reasons we love Hevel so much!
