Southern Utah eagerly awaits the opening of its newest, and only, academically focused college preparatory middle and high school. George Academy academic program of instruction will be based upon the premise that its students seek the requisite intellectual competency to achieve above average scores on college admission equivalency exams (e.g. SAT or ACT), compete nationally for admission into ev

en the most selective undergraduate institutions, and receive a strong foundation in the general content areas that will ensure that they will remain active lifelong learners. George Academy will work to create students universities and colleges look to admit. High academic achievement is no longer enough to gain entry into today's post high-school institutions. Students looking to enroll in colleges and universities must demonstrate that they are active and responsible citizens of an interdependent world. Involvement in athletics, community service, clubs, organizations, etc. are all key components of this endeavor. George Academy will be the only high school in Washington County whose primary mission will be to prepare its students for a university education. According to Washington County School District data, only 17% of the areaโ€™s high school students meet the minimum academic preparedness standards for the four general content areas as defined by ACT scores. These deficiencies are further reflected by the increasing number of students, locally and nationally, that require remedial or developmental supplementation upon entering post-secondary programs. George Academy is committed to providing a secondary education that will adequately prepare its students for the intellectual rigor and heightened expectations that they will encounter at the university level.

๐Ÿ”ญ Meet Trevor Anderson, our dedicated 7th & 8th-grade teacher! He teaches 7th Science, 8th Integrated Science, and Earth Science. His inspiration to become a teacher came from Carl Saganโ€™s The Cosmos, which sparked a love for science and discovery.

๐Ÿช What does he love most about teaching at St. George Academy? The small class sizes and students who genuinely want to learn.

๐ŸŒŒ Fun fact: Outside of teaching, Trevor books concerts!

๐Ÿงญ His biggest hope for students is that they develop a love for the process of science and the curiosity that comes with exploring how the world works.

๐Ÿงฌ Meet Mrs. Condie, our dedicated 11th grade teacher! She teaches Biology, Medical Anatomy & Physiology, Zoology, and Chemistry. Her love for teaching began in college, when she realized how much she enjoyed sharing what she was passionate about with others. She also loves working with teens and helping them learn meaningful life skills.

๐Ÿงช What does she love most about teaching at St. George Academy? The opportunity to create hands-on labs and activities that make learning memorable. From frogs to cow eyeballs to brains, Mrs. Condie believes hands-on learning helps students truly connect with science.

๐Ÿ”ฌ Fun fact: Mrs. Condie has pet quail and reads more than 15 books a year!

๐Ÿธ Her biggest hope for students is that they learn showing up and doing their best is what they need to succeed. She also hopes they discover that being themselves is what brings true happiness.

๐ŸŽ‰Weโ€™re proud to celebrate an incredible achievement by our middle school team at St. George Academy!

After months of preparation, our science teacher, Mr. Anderson, alongside students Graham, Diego, and Jacob (left to right), have won the State Championship in the You Be The Chemist Challenge, marking the third year in a row that St. George Academy has received the title!

This national competition includes two rigorous components:
- A live, timed science quiz, where students compete against teams from across the country
- A video project, where students apply chemistry to solve a real-world problem, this year focused on healthcare

Scores from both parts are combined to determine the statewide winner, making this a true test of both knowledge and creativity.

Congratulations again to Mr. Anderson and our outstanding students on this incredible achievement!
