We still have a few openings in our 3’s Class for this school year!

The 3’s class meets on Thursdays & Fridays from 9:00-11:15am. We have a convenient drop-off & pick-up procedure and all students enrolled in the 3’s class are guaranteed a morning 4’s spot the following year!

The 4’s/5’s class meets on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday from 12:45-3:15pm. (We work with families who have older children with a similar dismissal time).

Washington Christian Preschool is Hiring!

Washington Christian Preschool has served our community for 48 years and is looking for a part-time, experienced teacher for our morning and afternoon 4 & 5 year-old classes which meet on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday. (DCFS Director-qualified is a huge asset, but not required at the moment). Seeking a responsible, caring, Christian adult. He or she will be able to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with Christian values and educational standards.

• Must have a passion for nurturing spiritual development alongside academic growth of the children in the care of WCP
• Must ensure a safe and positive work environment, manage classroom behaviors, and maintain a neat and organized space
• Must be able to assess student progress
• Must be able to communicate effectively with parents, fellow teachers/director, and students
• Must demonstrate a commitment to a Christian worldview and the ability to model Christian values in the classroom
• Must be flexible, understanding, and patient

• Will work cooperatively with another qualified teacher
• Job requires approximately 25 hours per week during the school year
• Will need to complete 15 continuing education hours (In-service training must be DCFS approved) each school year

DCFS Requirements for Director Qualification
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED)
• Must have a minimum of an associate degree in child development or early childhood education, or the equivalent
o Equivalent: 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 semester hours of college credit in child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education
• Must have either a Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential or 3 semester hours of college credit or 3 points of credential approved training in administration, leadership or management

Do you (or someone you know) have a 4 or 5 year old child ready to begin preschool in January? We have some openings!

We have 1 opening in our AM Pre-K Class. It meets on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday from 9:00-11:30am.

We have several openings in our PM Pre-K Class as well! It meets on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday from 12:45-3:15pm (we do our best to work with parents who have multiple pick-ups at other schools).

We would love more friends to join us! We are working hard on Kindergarten readiness while having lots of fun 😊
