Howard University Summer Transportation Institute

The Howard University Summer Transportation Institute (HUSTI) program is designed to attract rising 9th and 10th grade students to career fields in transportation. HUSTI provides a stimulating introduction to all modes of transportation through hands-on projects, problem-solving techniques, field trips, classroom and enrichment activities. Participants will gain skills in mathematics, science and

technology. The goal of the program is to expose participants to a series of academic experiences designed to motivate them toward professions in the transportation industry. Students will have an opportunity to interact with university staff and various professionals in the field of transportation. This is a non-residential, no-cost program funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FWHA) and the District Department of Transportation (DDOT). PROGRAM SUMMARY

Applications: Closed (The application process for STI 2016 will be posted around April 2016)

Cost: Free. There are no admission, application or activity fees. Lunch will also be provided every day. Stipend : Students will receive a stipend of up to $1,000.00
