🤰🏼 Thanks to a WINGS grant, Mrs. Mendenhall’s students had some additional fun this week building empathy with their pregnant patients. Students learned how hard it is to do every day tasks such as picking something up off the floor, tying your shoes, getting out of bed, and making it to a “doctors” visit on the other side of the building!

🤰🏼 🎈Mrs. Mendenhall’s and Mrs. Edler’s classes had fun this past week learning all about labor and delivery and the amazing changes a woman’s body goes through during childbirth! All of the students simulated Braxton Hicks and real contractions on a balloon to see how both affected the “cervix”, and were surprised with their own bundle of joy! 👶🏼

Mrs. Mendenhall’s and Mrs. McCleave’s classes had so much fun participating in the annual gingerbread house contest at Four Rivers today! Mrs. Mendenhall’s morning class made Hawkins Lab and Byers living room from Stranger Things and her afternoon class made the circus from The Greatest Showman to represent all of the endocrine disorders. Mrs. McCleave’s morning class made the Up house and won Best Structural Design. Her afternoon class created The Wizard of Oz and won staff and student favorite and best elf!

🏥 💵 Mrs. Mendenhall’s students had fun playing a health insurance version of Monopoly to apply what they learned about health insurance to real life scenarios!

🦽🛏️ Mrs. Mendenhall’s students learned how to use proper body mechanics to pull patients up in bed without causing skin damage and how to safely transfer patients using a gait belt!
