🗳️ As you might know, 2024 is not just an election year; it's perhaps THE election year. Globally, more voters than ever in history will head to the polls as at least 64 countries (plus the European Union)—representing a combined population of about 49% of the people in the world—will be holding elections.
One of the more important among these elections will be held for the student government of the Student Government Association (SGA) of SAIS. These are roles that you can apply for!
The timetable for this year's election will look as follows:
On Tuesday, March 12th (tomorrow!): You will have the opportunity to meet the current SGA board, discuss your candidacy, and draw on their experiences.
Applications Due: March 25th — After the meeting, you'll have time to prepare your candidacy until the application deadline.

Meet the Faces Behind SGA Communications! 🙌
Excited to kick off our new series where we introduce you to the incredible members of our Student Government Association Communications Committee! First up, let's meet Evan Clark, Aakrith Harikumar, and Camilla Manning.
Evan is a first-year MAIR student at Johns Hopkins SAIS with a Security, Strategy, and Statecraft focus area and a Europe and Eurasia regional focus area. Currently pursuing a four-year JD/MA dual-degree program between SAIS and Georgetown Law, Evan's passion lies in international law and its intersections with security. Serving as an editor of the Blueser and Print Assistant Editor for The SAIS Review of International Affairs, Evan finds reward in his diverse involvements. In his spare time, he enjoys diving into fantasy and science fiction literature, outdoor exercise, and exploring creative writing.
Aakrith is a first-year MAIR student focusing on Governance, Politics, and Society in Asia. When he’s not working on the SAIS Blueser, you can find him at the high tables near the Beach, getting distracted by contemplating life’s biggest questions. From politics to literature, philosophy, history, pop culture, and metal music—Aakrith is always ready for a conversation (or argument) about anything under the sun.
Camilla is a first-year MAIR candidate focused on security, strategy, and statecraft in Europe and Eurasia. With a background in political science and a love for languages, she's currently interning with the Department of State's VSFS internship program while actively engaging in various projects and clubs at SAIS. When not immersed in schoolwork or tracking Italian politics, Camilla can be found exploring D.C.'s coffee shops, diving into a good book, traveling!
Stay tuned for more spotlights on our outstanding SGA Committee members! 🎉
