Good evening families! This is Sarah Hollis, Assistant Principal at PS Jones Middle School with your weekly announcements for October 12th through October 16th.

We are collecting candy donations for our annual Fall Festival and Haunted Hallway event. The house that brings in the most candy by weight earns 100 house points! Candy donations can be dropped off in the front office. Competition ends October 28th. This event will be on Thursday, October 29th from 5:30 to 7:30.

PS Jones will be hosting the North Carolina Museum of Art Afterschool Program again this year! The first session runs from October 20th through December 8th with meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 4:30. Students that are interested need to see Mrs. Kozuch.

This week is the last week of the 1st Quarter. Please encourage your scholar to finish strong!
Here’s what’s happening at PSJ this week:

Tuesday, October 13th
Our Cross Country team will have a meet at Boyd Lee Park.

Wednesday, October 14th
Our Volleyball team will host Hope for a home game.

Thursday, October 15th
Our football team will host a home game against Greene and we will recognize our 8th graders!

Please come out this week and show your support for all of our athletes!

Just a reminder that there is no school for students Friday, October 16th.

Coach Couch serves our school in so many important ways — as our ISS Coordinator, Head Football Coach, and a leader in our Distinguished Men of Purpose group. In every role, he pours into our scholars, helping them build character, develop confidence, and become the very best versions of themselves. 💪🏽

Good evening, families! This is Shannon Cain, Assistant Principal at PS Jones Middle School, with your weekly announcements for October 5th through October 9th.

Families, we have officially kicked off our Optimistic October competition to encourage our scholars to continue making positive choices and being on their best behavior! Thank you to all our PSJ families for your continued support and encouragement at home. We can see the impact your support is making here at school, and we are so grateful for the partnership between home and school. Together, we can encourage positive choices, celebrate growth, and create a school environment where every scholar can thrive! Let’s make Optimistic October our best one yet!

P.S. Jones is participating in the Disabled American Veterans fundraiser! So far, we have raised $150, and we need to raise at least $250 to receive flags to display on our campus during Veterans Day week! See our social media post for more details on how to donate!
