Good evening families! This is Mr. McRoy, Principal at PS Jones Middle School with your weekly announcements for August 24th through August 28th.
We are so excited to begin a new school year and welcome our students and families back to school. We are looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, new opportunities, and lots of PS Jones Demon pride!
A few reminders:
-Our school day starts at 7:45 and ends at 2:40
-Please discuss with your scholar that cell phones should be off and in their bookbag or they will be required to place them in a cell phone lockbox during the class period
-Hats, hoodies, bonnets, ski masks, and any head coverings other than for religious purposes are not allowed on during the school day
-Headphones (Beats and air pods) should be worn only during needed classroom instruction and should not be visible in the hallways, cafeteria, or other areas of the school. Headphones will be treated similar to cell phones.
-Please review the dress code policy on the BCS website to ensure that your scholar is meeting the dress code expectations

Here’s what’s happening at PSJ this week:
Tuesday, August 25th
There is a Fall sports parent meeting at 5:15 in the gym.
Wednesday, August 26th
Our football team will travel to AG Cox for a Jamboree and our volleyball team will host a home scrimmage against CM Eppes at 4:00.
Thursday, August 27th
There will be a parent meeting at 6pm in the cafeteria for parents and students interested in band. In this meeting, information will be provided about how to get an instrument and other necessary supplies for the class.
