During the first official week of preschool we learn to recognize the letters in our names. We practice the letter names and sounds. We also talk about how letters can be capital (uppercase) and lowercase. Here are a few of the art activities we use to help the children learn to spell their names.

Our summer family activity didn’t turn out exactly as planned but we still had a great time! After 4 months without rain here in southern Utah we didn’t care that the storm rolled in just in time for our snowball fight.

It’s that time of year again… Time for the inevitable change… Letting our kindergartners grow up. 😭 This past year was the first time in 14 years that we’ve had the same crew from Aug.-May. No one moved! It’s been a wonderful year, but it’s time to enroll some new friends as we’ve recently had to say goodbye to 6 kindergarteners! We’ve enrolled two new friends already. 👏 👏 If you’re needing childcare for full time (4 or 5 days a week), ages 2-5 (sorry no infants at this time), feel free to check out our hours, rates, and other info at www.safeharborchildcare.com -then send me a message if our program works for you. We stay open year round so spots are available to start now.

This is brilliant! There is always, always a reason behind every behavior. Is the child tired, hungry, sick, scared, bored, uncomfortable, etc.?
