💚💛 Student Government Retreat at JFK! 💛💚

Our JFK Student Government kicked off the school year with a special Leadership Retreat on Monday! ✨

Our student leaders spent the afternoon learning what it means to lead with faith, service, responsibility, and teamwork while preparing for an exciting year ahead. Each meeting will include one of Miss Janocha’s Leadership Mini-Lessons, and our students got started with their very first lesson at the retreat! 📚⭐

Students also took ownership of their year by:
📝 Creating a school-year planning sheet
🤝 Joining two committees that they will help plan and lead throughout the year
💡 Brainstorming ideas and goals for Student Government
🙏 Learning how strong leadership can be used to serve others and make a difference in our school community

Our Student Government is ready to put their leadership into action and make this a year filled with faith, leadership, service, and FUN! 💚💛

See God’s Goodness. Be God’s Goodness. ✨

🇺🇸📜 Constitution Day at JFK! 📜🇺🇸

On September 17, our 5th–8th graders celebrated Constitution Day with a day of learning, history, and a little friendly competition! 🇺🇸

Students began the program by reading the Preamble, Article I, and all of the Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. They then welcomed two local attorneys from Peacock Keller, Ms. Lozosky and Mr. Egers, a JFK parent, who shared their knowledge about the Articles of Confederation and the creation of the Constitution. ⚖️📚

After learning about the foundations of our government, students put their knowledge to the test with a fun Constitution-themed game! 🏆🇺🇸

We ended our special day by participating in a signing of the Constitution, giving our students a chance to reflect on the importance of this historic document and the principles it represents. ✍️📜

What a great day of learning, history, civics, and patriotism at JFK! 🇺🇸💚💛

Happy Constitution Day!

💚💛 A New Year of Leadership Begins at JFK! 💛💚

Today, after Mass, our entire JFK Catholic School community gathered for the first official Student Government Executive Board Induction Ceremony! ✨

With Fr. Mike, our chaplain; Miss Brown, our principal; and Miss Janocha, our advisor, we officially welcomed our 2026–2027 8th Grade Executive Board into their year of leadership and service. 🙏

The ceremony included a Scripture reading, prayer for our student leaders, words from Fr. Mike on servant leadership, our Light of Leadership ceremony with the JFK Comet, and the Student Government Oath. ⭐☄️ Each Executive Board member added a light to the Comet as a reminder that we are not one person shining alone—we are a community shining together.

The morning concluded with the formal induction and presentation of Student Government pins. 📌

We are so proud of these student leaders and excited to see how they will lead with faith, serve with joy, and help our JFK community shine!

✨ See God’s Goodness. Be God’s Goodness. ✨
