Mackinac Island + bees…
my happy place just got even happier. 🐝💛

I had the opportunity to take a bee class at the beautiful The Inn At Stonecliffe with Dave from Dave Zimmermann . He’s incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole experience so much fun! We even got to try some of The Inn At Stonecliffe delicious honey.
A wonderful experience for the entire family . 🍯🐝

🍯 The honey harvest has officially begun! 🐝

Harvest season is one of my favorite times of the year, but it doesn’t happen overnight. It takes several weeks to carefully remove the honey supers, extract the honey, let it settle, and hand-bottle every jar to ensure you get the highest-quality raw honey.

The bees did all the hard work, I just help bring their incredible gift from the hive to your table. 💛

✨ Almosta Bee Farm’s 2026 Raw Honey will be available next week! I can’t wait for you to taste this year’s harvest.

The flowers I grow don’t just brighten my garden, they bring joy inside too. 🤍

Every bouquet is a reminder that these blooms are only possible because of the tiny pollinators working tirelessly each day. As a beekeeper, watching the bees visit these flowers makes bringing them inside even more meaningful.

Here’s to slowing down, appreciating nature’s beauty, and remembering to plant flowers that feed the pollinators who give us so much in return. 🐝🩷

🚨 Don’t be fooled… these aren’t honeybees! 🐝

These are ground-nesting wasps, not honeybees.

As a beekeeper, I always do everything I can to protect pollinators. But because my husband has a SEVERE allergy to wasp stings, I had to remove this nest for his safety.

If you see insects flying in and out of holes in the ground, give them space and KEEP KIDS and PETS away.

Not every buzzing insect is a honeybee, and knowing the difference can help keep everyone safe. 💛

🌸 From one season to the next… Last year I saved these Xenia flower seeds, and this summer they’ve rewarded me with the most beautiful blooms. Even better, they’ve become a favorite stop for honeybees.

Watching the bees gather nectar and pollen from flowers grown from a handful of saved seeds is a reminder that every season builds on the last. Plant flowers. Support pollinators. Watch the magic happen. 🐝💜

Hive Check Day! 🌼

A quick peek inside the hive tells us everything we need to know, and these girls are thriving!

🐝 Bearding – The bees are hanging out on the front of the hive to help keep it cool on a hot day. Totally normal!

👑 Healthy queen – She’s laying beautiful, consistent eggs, just what every beekeeper hopes to see.

🐛 Healthy larvae – The next generation is growing strong.

🍯 Capped brood – Future worker bees are developing safely beneath their wax caps.

🌼 Pollen coming in – The girls are bringing home loads of pollen, a sure sign they’re finding plenty of forage and feeding the colony.

🍯 Capped honey – Liquid gold! The bees have finished ripening the honey and sealed it for storage.

And finally… one little honeybee that looks like she’s waving hello!
