Welcome to our Summer 2026 Fellows from North Carolina! We have 2 fellows from UNC and 2 fellows from Duke.

Ashley Dowdney is a graduating senior studying Classics and Peace, War, and Defense at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has interned at AEI, the Hudson Institute, and was a Defense & Security Fellow with The Fund for American Studies. She is the founder and president of UNC’s Alexander Hamilton Society chapter and a senator of the Dialectic and Philanthropic Societies. Ashley is from Asheville, North Carolina.

Avery Mack is a rising junior at Duke University studying French and Political Science. She is a cadet in Air Force ROTC Detachment 585 and member of the Program in American Grand Strategy. Avery is originally from Pulaski, New York.

Ansley Marsh is a graduating senior at Duke University studying Public Policy and Arabic. She is an Army ROTC cadet and currently serves as the Ranger Challenge captain. She is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Duke Undergraduate Law Review and a member of the council for Duke’s Program in American Grand Strategy, and has worked as a testing center intern at White Sands Missile Range. Ansley is an alum of the Hertog Security Studies program.

Nadège Sirot is a rising junior at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Classics and Civic Life & Leadership. She has been an undergraduate learning assistant for a course called “Seeking the Just Society” and an Agora Fellow for Public Discourse. She is an alum of the Humanities at Hertog seminars.

Welcome to our Summer 2026 Fellows from Houston, Texas!

David Lee is a graduate of Rice University, with degrees in Political Science and Transnational Asian Studies. He has worked in the Texas State Senate and on Capitol Hill, including with the U.S. House Select Committee on China. At Rice, he served as Chief of Staff of the Student Association.

Jorge Plaza is a rising senior at the University of St. Thomas in Houston studying Political Science. He is a peer tutor and mentor. Jorge is originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Logan Tantibanchachai is a Judicial Researcher at First Liberty Institute, an Associate Fellow at the Center for Religion, Culture & Democracy, and a Braniff Fellow for Social Thought at the University of Dallas. Logan is the youngest-ever graduate of the University of Houston.

Welcome to our Summer 2026 Fellows from North and South Carolina!

Elizabeth Adams is a rising senior at Furman University studying psychology, politics, and international affairs. She heads a leadership Fellowship at Furman, and is a member of Student Government and the Justice Forum.

Madeline Fyock is a graduating senior at the University of South Carolina studying Russian Studies and Vocal Performance. She has studied Russian both at the Middlebury School of Russian and through immersive experiences in Armenia and Uzbekistan. Madeline is a research assistant, Russian-language tutor, and student ambassador in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Stephen Walker is a rising senior at Davidson College studying English Literature and Political Science. He is an organizer of the deliberative citizenship initiative, president of Davidson College Republicans and regional director of North Carolina College Republicans. Stephen is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
