GW Alpha Delta Pi GW's chapter of Alpha Delta Pi! Founded May 15, 1851, in Macon, Georgia, ADPi is the mother of today’s sorority system.

Originally known as the “Adelphean Society,” from the Greek word, adelphae, meaning sister, ADPi has maintained high standards for membership over the years. Scholarship, leadership, service and sisterhood are some of the main principles that members of Alpha Delta Pi strive to uphold. Today there are over 182,500 initiated members of the sorority worldwide and more than 130 collegiate chapters, including our Alpha Pi chapter, throughout the United States and Canada.

Meet claudia , AC ‘25, and hear about how ADPi has changed her college experience🪽

“Before ADPi, I came to college hoping to find meaningful friendships and a community where I could truly be myself. Joining ADPi gave me exactly that and so much more. Throughout my time in this chapter, I’ve grown the confidence to take on new opportunities and have built relationships that will last long after graduation. Now, when I look back on my college experience, some of my favorite memories are the ones I’ve shared with my sisters. ADPi has become my home away from home and I’m so grateful for the incredible women who have encouraged me and helped shape the person I am today! 🩵”

Meet Tylina and Rachel, AC ‘26, and hear about how they’ve experienced ADPi through their friendship🤍

“Before ADPi, I felt a little lost in college and wasn’t sure where I truly belonged. But after meeting Rachel on Bid Day, I knew I’d found someone who would become one of my closest friends.

During our Alpha journey, we got really close spending almost every day cooking together in the ADPi house, making meals for our sisters and spending hours talking and laughing in the kitchen. Those meals are some of my favorite and funniest memories of my freshman year. Rachel has become one of the people I know I can always turn to, no matter what. Through ADPi, I found a forever friend.”

“ADPi has given me so many amazing experiences and memories, but it also gave me one of my best friends, Tylina. I remember meeting her for the first time on Bid Day and having no idea that she’d be the girl I’d always say yes to new adventures with or that we’d constantly be cooking together in the ADPi kitchen.

I’m so grateful that our chapter brought us together because there’s no one else I’d rather spend an entire day with and making jokes that only we laugh at. I love her so much, and I can’t wait to chef it up soon!”

Meet the Alpha Pi president Samantha Knister and hear about her experience representing our chapter at ADPi Grand Convention in Palm Springs, California!🩵

“Before becoming president, I did not know the level of dedication that was needed to lead a sisterhood like the one ADPi has provided me.

Serving as a leader in the chapter has taught me how to take initiative and devote myself wholeheartedly to something I believe in. ADPi leadership has shaped me throughout my time as president and has never failed to make me feel uplifted.

Grand Convention was such an amazing experience, as I was able to meet sisters from all over and learn how ADPi has grown over the past 175 years. It re-emphasized to me how all ADPis are connected by a common thread and how well we show up for each other.”
