M.Arch students at Lawrence Technological University’s (LTU) College of Architecture and Design (CoAD) have announced their 2026 Design Build Studio final project titled TRI-ARC. Framed through the studio theme of “Building Collaboration,” the project explored design-build as both a simulation of architectural practice and a platform for speculative construction research.

🌍 The 2027 COTE Competition 🌍
Sponsored by The American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment (AIA COTE®), this competition challenges students to meaningfully address the future impacts of climate change and imagine and illustrate a healthy, sustainable, and equitable future.

📐2027 Steel Competition 📐
Sponsored by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), this competition allows students to explore the many functional and aesthetic uses for steel as a building material and structural system in two categories: Community Youth Center & Open.

🩰2027 Concrete Masonry Competition 🩰
Created in partnership with the Concrete Masonry & Hardscapes Association (CMHA), this competition will challenge students to explore a variety of design issues related to masonry construction on a Performing Arts Center with an emphasis on innovation in concrete masonry.

🕊️2027 Design for Freedom Competition 🕊️
Ethical & Equitable Materiality: To End Forced Labor is a student competition that offers architecture students the opportunity to design a project using responsible design practices. Created in partnership with Grace Farms, students will engage in both design and material investigation as interconnected processes, demonstrating how architectural decisions can contribute to eliminating forced labor from the building industry.
