Last week, Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) was proud to have hosted our first middle school Books for Ownership event right here in our hometown of Washington, DC. Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is so excited to have Kia America as our partner. Recently we held our first Books for Ownership celebration together in Jersey City, New Jersey and it was terrific! This event culminated our first year of partnership with volunteers coming together to support in conjunction with their spring kit distribution to five cities on the east coast. Through this event in Jersey City, every student at the school was able to pick 3 new of their very own and everyone enjoyed a from incredible author and friend of , Carmen Rubin - Author. RIF was honored to celebrate the beginning of Dollar General Literacy Foundation’s 30th anniversary celebration through book distributions across three schools in the Fresno, California area. Over 1,800 students received across 2 days with the help of over 35 Dollar General volunteers. These book distributions were made possible thanks to Dollar General stores who raised the most funds through their cash cube donation initiative.
