The Leadership Retreat at Verdun Adventure Bound on January 20th proved to be an adventurous and bonding experience for the first and second year students of the SPA leadership program.
Starting off the day with a quick (unexpected) trek through the snow, to values auctions, 6-word memoirs, Lego building and escape room challenges - the retreat proved to be a great team building experience that allowed students to test their capacities and set their priorities.
And as happens in life, our day took unexpected turns and led students to go sledding, making s’mores, playing ping pong and other board games and even stargazing, before heading back to campus :)
Overall a memorable return to the tradition of leadership retreats after 4 years!

The Leadership Buddy Program is a long-standing tradition where older students in the program are matched with first-year students to help guide them through the leadership program and through their time at AU. Many of our students have fun stories, anecdotes and memories of their experiences and learnings with their buddies.

After two weeks of ‘speed dating’ and getting to know each other, our first year leadership students have made their picks! Here are our buddy pairings for this year!

We are so excited to see the friendships and mentorships that emerge from these pairs!

We will be hosting a gratitude dinner on November 13th from 5-7pm! It will be in Butler Boardroom and catered by Surfside (tacos and fun stuff). Please reply yes or no to Professor Waters' calendar invite at your earliest convenience. SPALP student attendance is expected. We hope to see you there!
