Are you the parent of a full-term baby between 6 and 8 months old? We’re recruiting families for a new infant research study at American University!

The SMILE (Social Minds: Infants Learning about Emotions) Study aims to better understand how babies process facial expressions and social interactions as they grow. In this study, your baby will watch short videos of faces and animated social scenarios. During the session, we’ll use non-invasive tools, like fNIRS and eye-tracking, to measure brain activity and eye movements, helping us understand how babies interpret social cues.
The study includes two visits and a few questionnaires.

Families can receive up to $200, two toys for your baby, free parking, and sibling care during visits.
