Hi Everyone!
My name is Rachel and I want to introduce myself as the new Post-bacc Research Assistant here at the Bayet Lab. I am an alumna from the University of Virginia with a bachelors in Psychology and intend to later pursue my PhD in Child Development. I enjoy working with children of all ages in both research and educational settings, and am so excited to be a part of this lab!
My job consists of reaching out to families like yours in the DMV area to recruit for our Baby Vision Study, meeting you in person at our lab during studies, and learning more about how babies vision develops over time. I have some new fun ways to get our study information out there in the community so keep an eye out for future posts on where to find us!
In the meantime, if you have a child who is between 12-15 months old and are interested in participating in our current in-person study here at American University, please fill out the link below or visit our website at
https://www.bayetlab.com/.

The Spring '24 semester has wrapped up in the lab -- with many accomplishments to celebrate! Kira defended her PhD dissertation on infants' developing visual cognition. She is starting a post-doctoral position at NIH/NIMH. Emma wrapped up her Honors thesis in the lab, in which she investigated how people perceive facial movements. She graduated summa cm laude. Benazir, who worked in the lab as a post-bacc Research Assistant, is starting a new position at Yale School of Medicine. Way to go!!
