The Field Placement Program is proud to spotlight Jasmine Masri (JD ’24), a three-time Field Placement superstar! During her time at GW Law as a part of the Field Placement Program, Jasmine externed with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Defense (DOD), and the Department of State (DOS). Incredible!
At the DHS, Jasmine worked in the National Security Law Division and was able to witness immigration court proceedings at the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Next, during her time with the DOD, she worked with the Defense Intelligence Agency by supporting the Agency in carrying out legal research and analysis on questions relating to advanced analytics and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning. Finally, while at DOS, she engaged in substantive research projects on arms control agreements and nuclear disarmament and spent time assisting with the Circular 175 Procedure, which is required before the US engages in international agreements.
Speaking on her externship with the DOS, Jasmine said, “I thought my internship with the State Department was one of the highlights of my time at GW Law. Having taken several international law classes before the externship, I had the chance to see how topics I've learned about in my academic courses actually present themselves in practice.”
Jasmine, congratulations on your graduation and your postgraduate associate position with Crowell & Moring! We have every confidence that the substantive skills, experience, and professional network you have garnered through your work in Field Placement will serve you well in your new position and beyond. We couldn’t be more excited and proud!
