Let's talk about your content.
The most effective way to make social media work for your law practice is to share content that is created with a particular person in mind. Targeted content leads to measurable results. Start with an an ideal reader in mind (e.g., executive in a specific industry who would be an idea client, colleague who is likely to send business your way, media content whose beat covers your industry, etc.).
Now ... create content that will help that person accomplish their goals and makes him/her want to stay connected to you. Then, invite that person to be connect! Do this and you'll be speaking one person ( your ideal client) in mass.
Rinse and repeat.

Social media marketing is not free; you have got to have a strategy for exactly how you plan to use the platform on which you are engaging to increase your impact, influence and income.
If you do not, you'll find yourself wasting your time (time = money) and going nowhere fast!

Social media is no longer the best kept secret in town for lawyers. It's no longer uncommon for small and large law firms alike to integrate social media platforms into their marketing ecosystem. In fact, more lawyers than ever are using social networks to connect with their communities (e.g., target market for idea clients, target market for referrals, colleagues).
According to a recent poll conducted by advertising giant AdWeek, 84% of litigators are at least using social networks in their personal lives.
Here's the rub - using social media is one thing, using it effectively is an entirely different animal.
Effective use of social media to increase your impact, expand your influence and accelerate your income from closed engagements requires three things:
(1) compelling content,
(2) structure, and
(3) consistency.
