Safe Kids is partnering with St. John Medical Center to hold a car seat checkup event and booster seat giveaway on Seat Check Saturday (a nationwide event), September 24th from 10am to noon.
If your child is riding without a booster, make sure they are passing the 5 step test!

Sure you do, you've done it hundreds, maybe thousands of times. But almost everyone does it WRONG. So, humor me, and take 1 minute and WATCH this. It'll be our little secret if you learn something new.

And yes, your 3 year old is going to notice that their straps feel a lot snugger tomorrow than they did today... tell them something simple and sweet like "it's snug like a hug because it loves you and keeps you safe" - and then distract and ignore. Within several car rides if you are consistent (i.e. you don't cheat and loosen the straps) they'll forget how loose they used to ride, and start pestering you about other things, like the cookies you're eating in the front seat that they hear you crunching and want too!
