We were pleased to welcome Assistant Secretary Alex Adams and Office of Head Start Director Lizbeth Casco White to Educare DC today.

During their visit, Assistant Secretary Adams read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" to an Early Head Start classroom and delighted students by showing them a photo of a real brown bear on his phone.

We were proud to share Educare DC's model and the outcomes we are achieving for children and families. For 61 years, the strong foundation of Head Start has produced positive outcomes for children and families through high-quality early learning, comprehensive services, and strong partnerships with families. At Educare DC, we continue that mission every day.

Thank you to Administration for Children and Families - ACF for taking the time to see that impact firsthand.

Educare DC was honored to attend the national Catalyst 2026 event in Tulsa joining programs from across the country to recommit to integrating policy, research, practice, and community towards providing high quality early learning experiences for all children.

The gathering brought together leaders, educators, and parents, reinforcing the power of partnership and community in supporting young children and families. We are proud of Educare DC Parent Ambassador, Lauren Hooper, and CEO & President, Jamal Berry for their remarks on how parent and program leadership can work to close the opportunity gap.
