๐คToday, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend โ it is rooted in remembrance, reflection, and history. Many historians recognize that one of the earliest Memorial Day observances was led by formerly enslaved Black Americans in Charleston, South Carolina, in 1865, as they honored Union soldiers who fought for freedom and justice.
As we gather with family and loved ones, may we also take time to remember the true meaning of this day and the history behind it. We honor those who gave their lives, reflect on the sacrifices made for our freedoms, and acknowledge the generations who ensured these stories would never be forgotten. ๐บ๐ธโจ

Your influence reaches far beyond the classroom, inspiring and shaping the next generation of leaders.

Rho Mu Omegaโs Spring Shred Day at Alice Deal Middle School was a huge success! โป๏ธ
We were proud to serve the community members as they safely disposed of old documents and electronics, helping protect personal information while supporting a healthier environment. Events like this show that even simple actionsโlike responsibly shredding sensitive paperwork and recycling outdated electronicsโcan make a meaningful impact in our communities.
A special thank you to our Connection and Social Action Co-Chair, Lauren Battle, who also used this opportunity to engage residents on the importance of civic participation. In partnership with the event, she helped educate local voters on upcoming elections in the Washington area and assisted with voter registration for the upcoming primary elections.
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this initiative. Through service, education, and community engagement, we continue to make an impact that reaches far beyond one day. ๐๐
