Around 80% of U.S. paper mills use recycled paper as part of making new products. Paper manufacturers invest every day to move collected paper back to mills, process it in pulpers and turn it into new boxes, tissue, pulp, paper and packaging people rely on. This ongoing commitment is what helps keeps paper recycling strong in the United States. https://bit.ly/3HX8GA0

250 years of America. 250 years of paper evolving alongside the nation.

It recorded the ideas that founded our nation. It moved news, ledgers and ideas across a growing country. Today it shows up in hospital supplies, classrooms, grocery stores, homes and the packaging that keeps American commerce moving.

From the first American paper mill to modern manufacturing in communities across the U.S., paper has kept pace with what Americans need.

The next 250 years will demand the same: innovation, high-quality jobs and essential products made here at home. https://bit.ly/4uN8vjt

On Thursday, the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will consider Congressman Dusty Johnson’s amendment to increase truck weight limits, which haven’t been updated since 1982. We need you to contact them TODAY and urge them to vote YES. https://bit.ly/43hPFpb

The paper industry relies on trucks to transport pulp and paper products across the country. We have long supported raising truck weight limits to keep products moving safely and efficiently. These trucks are safer for Americans and better on our roads.

AF&PA filed to join the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors lawsuit against Oregon’s EPR law, the Plastic Pollution and Recycling Modernization Act. We filed a request asking the court to grant the same pause, which would temporarily stop the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) from enforcing the EPR law against our members.

Our industry continuously invests to improve paper recycling. Rather than penalizing materials like paper and paper packaging that are already widely recycled, policymakers should prioritize approaches that build on existing success and deliver measurable improvements. https://bit.ly/4saGSA9
